I had another talk with someone last night. They wanted to hold onto what they wanted, because they did not trust God to give them what they desire. It comes down to complete surrender, it can't be about what I want, but about God wants. It is when we are able to trust God not just in the little things, but in everything does He start to move. Yes there will be quiet days, few days maybe even a week or two, but Jesus is always with you, not just when He wants to be or when we want Him to be, but all the time.
When we are able to say Lord it is your will and not my own. I trust you not just in the little things, but all things. It isn't easy and I haven't met anyone that says it is, but it is when we give up control, when we say Lord it is all yours, that the change starts. It starts with a choice and grows.
Faith like a mustard seed, look up what happens to the smallest seed, it becomes a huge tree. It has to start somewhere, don't hold back, let God water that seed, let Him take control and watch it grow. Trust He will not let you down.
Hard times will come, but where you sink your roots will make the difference. Struggles will try and cause you to stumble and fall, but where are your roots planted? Are they in the bible once a week or daily? What are you listening to? Is it uplifting music or is it worldly music? We wonder why we are not growing, sink your roots into God, into His word and see yourself grow.
I always need these reminders too. It is Jesus first in all we do, then others, then ourselves. Today is a day of great joy, for the day is here to bring us a gift all wrapped in a present. Stop holding onto the past and see today for what you have. Even the storms of life will help you grow and change.
