Proverbs 10:27 “The fear of the Lord prolongs days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.”
What do most people fear these days?
I have seen that most people fear other people, things they can't control. We can't control what others think of us and we have no idea what others think, but what we can do, is keep our actions, our words, our physical appearance honoring to the Father. When we worry more about others than we do about God, we are giving Satan a leg up, we are saying what our actions say don't matter to God, they only matter to others. I have to please others, but that is a LIE, we have to worry more about pleasing God. When we worry more about pleasing God, how we deal with others is so different. We stop being yes people and we start being what God calls us to.
Do you fear more of what others think or do you fear what God thinks? That is the bottom line. When we are focused on others, we take our eyes off of God. We are making others more important than God, we are also making how I feel more important than God.
Today, make a mental note to look at your actions in how you deal with others, is it glorifying to God or are you more concerned with how they feel? What matters to you more? How God feels or how others feel?
We can only control who we are, we can't control how others perceive us. Honor God first and in doing so you will see the actions we choose are honoring to others.
