I woke up with a song in my heart this morning. I wanted to share it, because this Easter weekend is just the beginning of so much more, but one must take hold and allow God to work in you. We must see who Jesus is, who He was and what He did for us. It is easy to forget and just be it is another day, but today is a new day, because Jesus is the King. Without Him we would not know hope and the hope He has brought us is for a new day, a new way and today it is your choice to see it, or see all the millions of things we have to do to get through life, but who gave us life? This morning as you wake up and see life, don't think of it as all you have to do, but see it as a new day to do all that God has allowed you to do. He gave you a brand new day, enjoy it, accept it and see it as His day, not yours. It is time for a new perspective, allow God to give it to you.
Here is the song:
Crown Him with Many Crowns
Crown Him with many crowns, the Lamb upon His throne.
Hark! How the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own.
Awake, my soul, and sing of Him who died for thee,
And hail Him as thy matchless King through all eternity.
Crown Him the virgin’s Son, the God incarnate born,
Whose arm those crimson trophies won which now His brow adorn;
Fruit of the mystic rose, as of that rose the stem;
The root whence mercy ever flows, the Babe of Bethlehem.
Crown Him the Son of God, before the worlds began,
And ye who tread where He hath trod, crown Him the Son of Man;
Who every grief hath known that wrings the human breast,
And takes and bears them for His own, that all in Him may rest.
Crown Him the Lord of life, who triumphed over the grave,
And rose victorious in the strife for those He came to save.
His glories now we sing, who died, and rose on high,
Who died eternal life to bring, and lives that death may die.
Crown Him the Lord of peace, whose power a scepter sways
From pole to pole, that wars may cease, and all be prayer and praise.
His reign shall know no end, and round His piercèd feet
Fair flowers of paradise extend their fragrance ever sweet.
Crown Him the Lord of love, behold His hands and side,
Those wounds, yet visible above, in beauty glorified.
No angel in the sky can fully bear that sight,
But downward bends his burning eye at mysteries so bright.
Crown Him the Lord of Heaven, enthroned in worlds above,
Crown Him the King to Whom is given the wondrous name of Love.
Crown Him with many crowns, as thrones before Him fall;
Crown Him, ye kings, with many crowns, for He is King of all.
Crown Him the Lord of lords, who over all doth reign,
Who once on earth, the incarnate Word, for ransomed sinners slain,
Now lives in realms of light, where saints with angels sing
Their songs before Him day and night, their God, Redeemer, King.
Crown Him the Lord of years, the Potentate of time,
Creator of the rolling spheres, ineffably sublime.
All hail, Redeemer, hail! For Thou has died for me;
Thy praise and glory shall not fail throughout eternity.

Through my life I have made countless choices, good, bad, happy, sad and so many more. Some choices we make may not be noticed, but others are plain as day. I want to share with you where I have been and maybe I can help others with the choices they make daily. We love to say we learn things the hard way, but does that have to be the case? I hope others can learn from my failures, my mistakes and just the lessons I have learned.

Good Friday
Today we look back and see what Jesus did for us. We are reminded that He hung on the cross to save us of our sins. It is Good Friday. Why is it good, because today He died for you and I. He hung on that cross to set us free from our sins, He hung there to give us hope so that we could keep our eyes on Him. He hung there to break the binds that would hold us down, He hung there so that we could be free from the misery and way we would be.
Today I am reminded how easy it is to be stuck in the past, but Jesus saved us from that. He has set us free so that we can be free indeed. Isn't it time to allow Him to set you free, isn't it time to say He paid the price for me? Today is Good because God gave His only son to die on the cross for me. We can think about the crucifixion as a bad thing, or today we can be thankful that Jesus came to the earth, to walk each day and then in the end set us free.
Being thankful for what Jesus did for us, does not just happen today, but every day. Isn't it time that the holidays not be remembered only once, but thank Jesus each day, thank Him for setting us free each day, because without Him we would be bound, imprisoned and lost. He has brought us freedom, not just on Good Friday, but every day.
Jesus thank you for what you have done for me today. Thank you that you hung on that cross for my sins and thank you for showing me that Good Friday is just a day, but each day you have given me hope to live, hope to be the man you have made me. Let it not just be today that I remember, but each day. Thank you that you loved me enough for your truth. Thank you for setting me free.
Today don't just remember the death, but remember why He died. He is no longer on the cross because He has set us free.
Have a wonderful Friday!

Not About the Past
A saying that I use all the time is Yesterday is gone, Tomorrow is not here, but God has given us a new day and that day is wrapped up in a present. He has given it to us and it is our choice to see it as that. We can see it is just another day, or a great opportunity for something new and it is in Gods way that we will find it.
Let go of the past and don't plan to far ahead, for we don't know what tomorrow holds, but we do know who holds tomorrow. We sometimes need to plan ahead, but trust God with those choices that you have planned out, but don't be full of worry and doubt, for then we are not trusting.
Thank God for today, thank Him for a new way and thank Him for giving you a chance to make the changes you need to make. Take today one step at a time, one moment at a time and be thankful in this moment. We don't know how long we have, only God does. Thank you Lord for this moment I get to write this and share what I have learned.
A song to go along with this life lesson.

"You Are More"
by: Tenth Avenue North
There's a girl in the corner
With tear stains on her eyes
From the places she's wandered
And the shame she can't hide
She says, "How did I get here?
I'm not who I once was.
And I'm crippled by the fear
That I've fallen too far to love"
But don't you know who you are,
What's been done for you?
Yeah don't you know who you are?
You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.
Well she tries to believe it
That she's been given new life
But she can't shake the feeling
That it's not true tonight
She knows all the answers
And she's rehearsed all the lines
And so she'll try to do better
But then she's too weak to try
But don't you know who you are?
You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.
You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.
'Cause this is not about what you've done,
But what's been done for you.
This is not about where you've been,
But where your brokenness brings you to
This is not about what you feel,
But what He felt to forgive you,
And what He felt to make you loved.
You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.
You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,

You've been remade
You've been remade.
You've been remade.

Nature
As I thought about nature yesterday a picture came to mind of the male animals. Have you ever noticed that the males are the ones with beauty? They demonstrate all these things to attract the female, they don't change from season to season, but I am guessing they get better at what they do. It is truly amazing how God has designed each of them.
If you look at nature and compare it to us, we have to wonder why we are different. The men seem to put on a small show for females, entrapping them in a snare of the made up thing in there head, but when it comes living out the actions, some males fall short.
I guess the whole point to this blog is to say, isn't it time that us men step up and be men? Isn't it time that we stop putting ourselves first and start being the person that God has created us to be? It is high time that we be the fathers, the husbands, the boyfriends that our significant others need. We have sat on the back burner for to long, but it is not to late, because with God all things are possible. Change your focus from yourselves and start looking to what God has for you. The more you seek Him, the more your focus changes from what you think your relationships are about and the more you see what it truly is. We are a light to our nation, we are called to lay down our lives for the ones we love, are you willing to do that? It is easy to say it, but when it comes time to do it, totally different.
It is time to stand up and be counted. Stop blaming anyone else for your bad relationships, change starts with you, not with changing someone else. Take a moment to reflect and see that God has given you a choice to make today. It will not be easy, but all things are possible for those that love God. Isn't it time to stop looking to others and start seeking His face, call on Him to help. He is with you and He doesn't leave or forsake you. In Him is truth and freedom from the old. Let Him cut the anchor and set you free so that you can be the Man that God calls you to be.
It is a learning process. Day to day, but God is still the same. Seek Him first, not second and it isn't me first and then God, it is time to be the men that we are called to be.
