I don't know about you, but the one thing I have noticed is that the very thing I write about, or even do devotions on during the day, God generally brings into my day. I don't know if that is how it works for everyone, but it is how it works for me. I believe God uses many different things to teach us, but are we listening to Him? Are we hearing what He is trying to say?
I think it is so important that we listen to that still small voice and when things really strike us that we want to focus on, we need to do that. God is trying to get our attention, He is saying are you listening and are you willing to do what I have instructed. It comes down to our choices, am I willing to allow God to change me? I believe He says we can do it the easy way or the hard way. In my life I chose the hard way so many times, the breaking process hurts, it isn't easy, but God has been faithful through it all. He has never once left me or even said Geoff I told you so, He has encouraged me through each of the processes, but it was I that made things even more difficult by not surrendering those areas in my life to Him. I held onto the things that He wanted to break me from, but I wanted it my way and He said Geoff it isn't your way, it is MY way.
Today I am still learning to surrender all to Him. Even in the struggles of life, I have to surrender every fiber of me to Him. It can't be about me, it has to be about Him. It has to be about Your will Father, not about my will. When I am able to lay down my life and my wants for His in every area, then I stop holding on and allow God to take control. He says Geoff do you trust me? And if I say Yes, He says what about this or that and it brings me to the point of this. I need to trust Him in every aspect of my life, not just the easy ones, but the hard one too. His will, His timing is so much greater than mine. My ways are lower than Your ways Oh God. Isaiah 55:9 "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
I am still learning and I pray that God continues to teach me and instruct me on His ways.
Have a wonderful day.
Through my life I have made countless choices, good, bad, happy, sad and so many more. Some choices we make may not be noticed, but others are plain as day. I want to share with you where I have been and maybe I can help others with the choices they make daily. We love to say we learn things the hard way, but does that have to be the case? I hope others can learn from my failures, my mistakes and just the lessons I have learned.

Why?
Have you ever found yourself asking God why? Have you found yourself saying why me, why do I have to go through this or that? WHY? WHY? WHY?
I was thinking this morning that it really isn't about the why, but about being thankful in all things. When we remove the why from the vocabulary and start thanking God for the situation we are going through we change our perspective from the question to being thankful. God is in it all, but when we ask God why we are doubting the very thing that He is doing and has planned for us. We are questioning Him when we should be thanking Him. He knows it is not easy, He knows we are struggling, but He also knows that we can make it through the difficulties and when we thank Him for them we have stopped questioning our creator, we have stopped questioning the One that sees the whole picture and we are able to learn from where He has us.
Today instead of asking God why? Change your statement and say Lord thank you for these hard places, because I know you are making me the man/woman I need to be. Thank you for these hard places, because I am able to ground myself in Thee. Isn't it time to change from the why, to the thank you. It isn't easy, but changing our conversation can change our perspective. When you talk with God today, thank Him for the very things that you are struggling with, because they are making you a new person if you allow God to change you through the hard places.
You can either struggle with finding out an answers, or you can be thankful in the thought that it is a hard place and God is in it.
God is right there with you through it all, He never leaves you nor forsakes you. He knows and knew, He is in it all. Just change your perspective to the Thank You God. He loves you.
