Simple Things

I have found that it is easier to find the good in others, but finding it in me is very difficult. Other will point out the good that they see in me and then I have to either except it as truth or I reject it. Have you ever noticed it is much harder to except the truth then to reject it? It is easy to say, oh that is just them saying that and then we move on. I need to except that truths that people share with me, if I am to expect them to except what I share with them.

Today we can get lost in the idea of how we view others, or even how others view us, or we can look at others through Gods eyes and we can look at ourselves the same way. A wise woman told me that we are our worst critics, she was so right. Now God says love ourselves, and the more we love God the more that we are able to love. It is the greatest commandment. Without love what do we have? Look at a match, without oxygen can a match burn? No it can not, just the same with a Christians life, without love what do we have?

What is the greatest commandment of all? It is to love the Lord your God with what? And the second is? The key to all of this is what?

LOVE

I ask God to teach me, to show me how to love Him more. To teach me to love so that I may love myself and in that I may love others more fully each step of the day. No matter the difficult times, but in all times. To know God is to do what? It is to love Him. The simple most incredible truth is to Love God we must know Him and who came to this earth to show us who God is?

The Darkness

If we want to be free from sins, we must not hide them from others and keep them hidden in the darkness. In darkness fungi grows and just the same as sin. If we are afraid to bring it into the light we must realize what we are doing is wrong. I was so afraid of bringing my sins into the light, I was afraid that people would see my sins and see me ugly and unlovable. But it can't be based on what people think, but has to be based on our God. He is the only way to freedom, He is the light and if we admit our sins to Him we allow Him to shed light on our choices, we allow Him to work in us.

You may wonder why I was able to write about my sins, well it is the grace of God. He is the only way, if I make life about me, how can I show others what He has done. God uses our freedom from the sins as a witness to others. It is His way and His will. It is not just a one time choice, it isn't even a day to day choice, but it is moment by moment, it is from glory to glory He changes me.

For anyone that is struggling, by being willing to bring your sins into the light, you allow God to work in you. Don't hide from your sins and don't hide them anymore from others. Jesus is the only way to find freedom.

More of Him, less of me. Change your focus from your sins and change it to focus on the freedom that God has given you. Feast on His word, not just once, but as often as you can. If temptations arise (and they will) take the word out and read it.

There is freedom in the blood of Jesus Christ.

My Failures

As I was driving to work and thinking about the past days, I was reflecting on the fact of how easy it is to sit and tell people what in life is our choices or the good, the happy and even the hard, but not really admitting anything. Sitting there pointing out how we should not judge and so on. God pointed out to me that we don't find freedom from things if we hide them, if we do not admit that we are struggling and that is when I realized that admitting ones sins not just to God but to others only strengthens us, only builds us up by allowing others to help us.

Now what I am about to tell you is scary, is maybe even hard to admit, but I admit it to share that I am not perfect and that I have struggles too. I struggle with the sin gratifying my flesh. Oh that sounds terrible, how can I admit that. I don't know how I admit that or even if I will post this, but when we keep our sins hidden we are no better doing that either. I am starting a course and that course is purity of life (second time through). We become captives of our sins, because we hide them from view. I don't want to be hidden anymore. I don't want to use my temptations that I have.

It is easy to become sucked in the secrets of our life, but keeping things secret will only destroy us. It is time to ask for help, time to be honest with the ones that love you and to be willing to put it out there, because it will only strengthen what God has brought into your life.

Happy Easter

He is risen, there is no other way to put it, but today isn't about the bunny, but I do love the chocolate and I do love all the fun things about today, but the truth is this day would be just another day of no hope, but Jesus is risen today. As I got up today, I thought about how the disciples must have thought when they saw the tomb empty. They had no idea what to think, they wanted to believe, but there minds just kept them from seeing the truth, seeing Jesus was risen.

Today can you imagine seeing Him risen and not dead? It is today that has brought us hope for so much more. Live in thanksgiving to Him, to what He has done for us each and every day. Live not because He is dead, but because He is alive. Jesus is risen and I praise God I get to share that with you. Stop seeing the negative in life and start excepting that Jesus brings us truth, freedom daily.

I woke up with a song, it isn't about how He has risen, but how we must trust and obey Him, for He is the only way. He has given us a new day, will we walk with Him, or do it our own way? He is the only way there is, we will fall, but He will stand, because He is the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end. He has gone before you today and continues to go before you in every step of the way.

Trust and Obey

When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

Refrain
Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

Refrain
But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

Refrain
Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet.
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way.
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.
