Focus

Driving down the road, the vehicles in front are a fading blur of tail lights, but they are there. I continue to drive pressing forward to reach the place I want to be. The only thing that stands in my way of getting there is space, distance between where I want to be and where I am.

Our walk with God is much the same. We tend to focus on what we want, where we want to go, what is important to us, but we lose sight of what is important to God. It is easy to do, but God calls us to absolute surrendering to His will. We can go to where we want to be and be lost, or we can go to where God wants us to be and find that it is the same place we wanted to be, but without God we have nothing. See we think we know that our will is what God wants, but instead of seeing what He wants we push to get there instead of learning the lessons that He has for us.

See I want to have a relationship with a woman, but if God isn't in it then what is there to have? God has to be in the journey, not just thought of second He has to be the first thought when we get up and the last thought when we go to be, He has to be thought of during the day and in all we do. It says in
1 Thessalonians 5:17 "to pray without ceasing". By doing that we keep focus on God, we keep Him in the number 1 position in our mind. When we take our focus off of Him and put it on what we want, we lose the purpose for which He created us for. It isn't for us to get what we want, but for us to get what God wants us to have. He wants us to be happy, He wants us to find our mate, He wants us to be completed, but without Him we are nothing. We will not get to where He wants if we push our wants in front of His. His will, His way, our surrendering to Him. He has to come first, not our kids, not our loved ones, not our wants, but God. Did you read the Bible today? Did you start out in what He wants to teach you? Today is about focus on what God wants and every day forward.

Matthew 22:37-39 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.

Mark 12:29-31 29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.”

We know what God has called us to. Are you putting Him first? It is a tall order, but when you put Him first you are then allowing Him to do great things in your life, in your heart and what you may want may not be what God has designed for you at the time.

Trust Him, put Him first.

Cold, Hard truth

The darkness falls around me, it encumbers me, it makes me want to run away from the truth. It makes me want to avoid the things that God is trying to teach me. It hurts to much, it cost to much, but yet I must look at what I was learning when I was without God. When I was doing things my own way.

The past is a tool, can be something that reminds of everything. People tend to look behind them and see things better then they were, instead of seeing things how they were. They want to make the past wonderful, they want to make the bad choices seem good, but the truth is. Things would not be in the past, forgotten about if we were not meant to see them as what they where. It is time to learn from the past, learn what steps you took to get to where you were, instead of wishing you were back there.

My past full of holes, full of unhappiness, full of fear, full of doubt, full of self hate. How could I learn to love when I couldn't even love the man I was. I was full of everything that kills love, how could I love the one I was with. I allowed the evil to fill me with the hate of everything. Now I look back to see that, to remind me of where I once was. I use the past as a tool, not something I want to go back too. The past is behind me, today is here for me and tomorrow is yet to discover. Take today as a blessing as a gift that has been given to you. The day is like no other, lets learn from the past and see what today has.

Matthew 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Health

I have taken my health for granted and it is that in which I want to talk about. It is so easy to forget how to be thankful for our health. I thank God for everything, but not the way I get up in the morning, or how I can talk, see, hear, move and so on. It is easy to forget until one is reminded that we are given a gift, can you imagine if we lose it?

Yesterday I was reminded that I need to be thankful for what I have. It was a good way to remember that God is good no matter what, to be thankful even in being able to talk. What happens if we were not able to communicate, talk, walk or even drive. Where would we be. Be thankful even in the small things for who knows when our last minute is. Who knows when we will not be able to say the things that have meant so much for us to say. It is a blessing to be able to share with you each day and a blessing that you can read this. Don't be afraid to thank God for the small blessings, for they are what make us.

Today I thank God for being able to talk, to think, to see and so much more. Thank you all for reading this, because no one knows when the last one will be posted.

Have a good day.

God Bless

Just a Reminder

The past is behind us, but what is in front of us is a gift from God. He wrapped it up in the present. Today is a new day, a new way and it is a choice to live it or to live in the yesterday. God wants us to live in the present, because He has washed our sins white as snow (if you have asked Him too).

The past is behind us, but God is for us, who can be against us...

He loves you, we all sin and fall short of His glory, but glory to glory He sets us free. Turn to Him when you are burdened and He will give you rest. It is called total reliance on God, not on yourself. We all are weak, we all struggle, but God is the only way. He will come and save you from yourself. Take the steps today to allow Him to work in you. To do that, it is called total surrender, not just half way, not 3/4, not 95% it is all or nothing. Give Him a try, what do you have to lose?

May God bless you today as you walk in His will for your life.
