How far is to far?

I have read many blogs, many different articles on this and everyone has a different opinion, some I agree with, but others that I can't believe that they would post some of these things. By setting up boundaries in a relationship we set ourselves up for failure. If you think about when you were a kid, some of us that is a long time ago, when your parents told you not to touch the stove, what did you do? Well, this is the same kind of thing.

Psalm 19:14 "May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer."

If you are kissing the one you love, where is your mind? What are you thinking of? Are your thoughts pleasing to God? My girlfriend asked me if we are passionately kissing are our thoughts edifying to God. I was taken back, I actually thought about this very point. Matthew 5:28 "But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart." If you want to walk purely in the ways of God, there are no boundaries, but when you start wanting more then kissing, do you think you have gone to far?

God calls us to put Him first, following His teachings. It says in Psalm 119:11 "I have stored up your words in my heart so that I may not sin against the."

As I searched for scriptures for this post I found this one and I would recommend you read the whole chapter 1 Peter 3:8-18
8 Finally, all of you should agree and have concern and love for each other. You should also be kind and humble. 9 Don’t be hateful and insult people just because they are hateful and insult you. Instead, treat everyone with kindness. You are God’s chosen ones, and he will bless you. The Scriptures say,
10 “Do you really love life?
Do you want to be happy?
Then stop saying cruel things
and quit telling lies.
11 Give up your evil ways
and do right,
as you find and follow
the road that leads
to peace.
12 The Lord watches over
everyone who obeys him,
and he listens
to their prayers.
But he opposes everyone
who does evil.”
13 Can anyone really harm you for being eager to do good deeds? 14 Even if you have to suffer for doing good things, God will bless you. So stop being afraid and don’t worry about what people might do. 15 Honor Christ and let him be the Lord of your life.

Always be ready to give an answer when someone asks you about your hope.16 Give a kind and respectful answer and keep your conscience clear. This way you will make people ashamed for saying bad things about your good conduct as a follower of Christ. 17 You are better off to obey God and suffer for doing right than to suffer for doing wrong.
18 Christ died once for our sins.
An innocent person died
for those who are guilty.
Christ did this
to bring you to God,
when his body
was put to death
and his spirit
was made alive.

Read Verse 10-12, Do you want peace in your relationship? Are you wondering why things seem to be not lining up? Isn't it time to step at who is Lord in your life? It is not to late to change thy ways, it is not to late to go backwards in a relationship, God calls us to obey Him, to love Him and to write these words in our hearts so we may not sin against Him.

The boundary is God are you willing to walk in purity for God? Isn't it time to allow Him and stop pushing His boundaries.

I don't know about you, but the depth of my relationship with my girlfriend has grown deeper then I thought possible, because we are basing it on God, we are allowing Him to work and we are putting Him first. It is different then what the word says, but it is also written Romans 12:2 "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will."

The Purity Walk 5

When we walk with someone else, that person can not take the number one place in our lives. We have to be willing to take time for God. In our busy lives it is sometimes hard to carve out specific time for God, but when we will not allow time for Him and guess what praying before meal time is not enough, yes it is a start, but don't let that be the beginning middle and end. By allowing time for Him, your perspective will begin to change.

In John 3:30 "He must increase, but I must decrease.” He must become more important then me, more important then others. He must increase and therefore I will decrease. My wants my desires are to be directed to Him, not the other way around. Just the same holds true in a relationship, you think that just because you are with someone that they can become more important then God, but the same holds true, more of Him and less of us still is the case. Allow Him to show you, to help you balance your time. When we pray about our schedules in the morning, guess what happens He will order our days. In Psalm 37:23 "The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him." He will help us walk according to Him. Psalm 119:133 "Order my steps in your word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me."

We need to allow God to work in our relationship and if we allow the one we are with to come first, we give in to the ways of the world. The devil will tempt us many ways, but the lust of the flesh is one way, when we allow the desires of our flesh to grow above the desires of wanting to serve God we have hurt our connection, keep God first and foremost.

My girlfriend just sent me a verse and I think it is incredible and timely. The verse is: Psalm 19:14 "May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight,
Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer."

As I write this blog I am reminded of a song:
Turn Your Eyes upon Jesus

O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!

Refrain:
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
O’er us sin no more hath dominion—
For more than conqu’rors we are!

His Word shall not fail you—He promised;
Believe Him, and all will be well:
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!

The Purity Walk

Upon all the thinking and talking about the walk to purity, I started doubting the very topic, because what if we fail and what if and what if. But the truth is, those are all fiery darts from the enemy, putting doubt in my mind, giving me reason to fear, but Jesus has gone before us, yes we will have hard times, yes we will struggle, but the more we turn our eyes to Him, the more we are taking our thoughts from what our flesh may desire and putting our thoughts onto what God longs for us.

On my way to work this morning, I heard a sermon on The Armor of God and I was reminded that the battles that wage in us are not battles of flesh and blood, but are battles against the enemy of our souls. We need to be diligent to put on the Armor of God, we need to do this every single day and use it to battle what is going to come our way, God has gone before us, He has made a way, doesn't mean that barriers and obstacles will not be in our way, but it just means that He has allowed us the ability to navigate them, the ability to seek Him and the bond of 3 is not easily broken.

At the conclusion to the message, this prayer was said and I think it is key to walking every single day and something that might be good to print out, so that we can be ready.

Prayer: The Warrior’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, Your warrior prepares for battle. Today I claim victory over Satan by putting on the whole armor of God!

I put on the Girdle of Truth!
May I stand firm in the truth of Your Word so I will not be a victim of Satan’s lies.

I put on the Breastplate of Righteousness!
May it guard my heart from evil so I will remain pure and holy, protected under the blood of Jesus Christ.

I put on the Shoes of Peace!
May I stand firm in the Good News of the Gospel so Your peace will shine through me and be a light to all I encountI take the Shield of Faith!
May I be ready for Satan’s fiery darts of doubt, denial and deceit so I will not be vulnerable to spiritual defeat.

I put on the Helmet of Salvation!
May I keep my mind focused on You so Satan will not have a stronghold on my thoughts.

I take the Sword of the Spirit!
May the two-edged sword of Your Word be ready in my hands so I can expose the tempting words of Satan.
By faith your warrior has put on the armor of God!

Walking in Purity

I know that the purity walk is not an easy walk and if you are in it already, or in a relationship already, it is not to late to start the walk. Yes you may have to do things differently and that is so hard to swallow. The things that have lead you to this spot. The question to ask yourself is this? (And trust me it is a hard question to answer, but answer it honestly.)

Who is more important to me, God or the person that I love? The answer should always be God. What is the greatest commandment of all?

Matthew 22:36-40
36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and greatest commandment.39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

When we are loving the person we are with more then God are we then breaking the greatest commandment of all? It is stated right here in Matthew. The more we love God the more we will be able to love the one we are with, love our kids, love those around us, because we are no longer putting our trust in the person, but the One True God. He is the one that will be walking with us, He is the one that chose us, isn't it time we chose Him first. He never leaves us nor forsakes us, He is always here and are we putting Him first?

Yes, if you have already gone down this path and found that you are loving the one you are with more then God, you must confess your sins, you must confess it one to another and then turn from your sins, you are not to just confess it and keep doing what you confessed, but turn from your ways and allow God to become king of your life.

When we put the one we are with first, we allow fleshly desires to come in and block what God wants to show us. Step back and look at your relationship, it is never to late to put God first. He is the reason we want purity. Isn't it time we allow Him to be #1?

Have a wonderful day.

Purity According to God's Word

This all may sound crazy, what is a couple doing walking the correct way. The world says to walk according how we feel, base our lives not on what the Bible says, but base it on feelings, emotions and what feels good do it. I am sure you have heard all those things, but let tell you that yes it is easy to fall, but much harder to stand, to rise above what the world says and walk according to the word of God. I have walked according to Geoff and let me tell you that does not work, it leaves to pain and more pain. It is time to allow God to work and follow His way. I am scared, but also excited to see what God can do along this path.

What does the bible say about Purity?

In Psalm 119:9 it says "How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word." It states young man, but it applies to all of us. If we want to walk pure, we need to seek the Kingdom of God first and all His righteousness:, Matthew 6:33. If we want to do it our way we shall surely fall.

1 Thessalonians 4:3-5
For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God;

1 Corinthians 6:18
Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.

There are many more verses like this and we will get to all of them, but I wanted you to know that this is not just a simple journey of the mind, it is a journey of the heart. Ask God to minister to your heart, allow Him to show you the path that He will guide you, as for me and my house we will serve the Lord. Not just when it is easy, or when it suits our cause, but every single day.
