2 Wolves

Something to remember today, this applies to so much, just like negativity too, if we feed it, it will grow.

The Answer

I have noticed in my daily walk, the answer that I am searching for is right in front of me. It is like looking for my lost keys, they could be right in front of me, but because I have allowed the frustrations to get into the way, I don't see them. I know I have looked in the same spot for the keys that I actually found them in, but I didn't see them when I was all frustrated, upset and just irritated. Do you think the answers that we seek are much like the keys?

Jesus said in Matthew 7:7 ""Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." If I have knocked and I can't seem to hear that answer, maybe it is time to rest, sit at the feet of Jesus and say Lord what are you trying to show me, because He promised an answer. Our human selves seem to think that answer will be huge, but maybe it is just Jesus saying rest and know that I am God, I will make a way, but in my timing. He wants to teach us patience and to trust completely in Him, not in our human selves.

Are you seeking an answer? Have you searched everywhere, but not found it? Are you frustrated and angry that they answer isn't where you thought it would be? Well, rest and know that God is God and He says that He is the answer. The questions to ask yourself?
Am I following what God has taught in His word to do?
Have I searched the word for the answer that I am seeking? (Because if you want to hear God, maybe it is time to open up His book, the Bible).
Am I putting myself before God?

As a Christian, God calls me to seek Him, to look to Him for direction, to allow Him to lead the way, to thank Him in all things, to praise Him even in the storms. He calls me to pray without ceasing, to seek Him in all I do and say. I could go through life as a Christian only doing a percent of this, but wouldn't that leave me with doing life on my own. Yes God will be with me, but could you imagine how much more He will be with me, if I do what He calls me to do. I remember a scripture that talks about this in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 "But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive,disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people."

I think that verse sums it up. We are to use what God has given us, because that is why He wrote the Bible, it says in 2 Timothy 3:16 "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness," Isn't it time to seek God first, let Him lead, because He is the only way.

Where are you struggling? Have you followed what God/Bible teaches you to do? If not isn't it time Matthew 6:33 "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

Negativity

With the Olympics playing on a lot of TV's around the world, we see athletes that seem to be able to do difficult tasks and they make them easy. The twist and turn, the jump off of great heights and run distances that seem impossible for the common person.

It takes training to be able to do that, countless hours of work to be able to perform at least physically like that. I would have to build my muscles and work at it. It takes a lot of patience, to be able to do what they do, but it isn't just the physical aspect of being an athlete, it is the mental aspect too.

Do you know that they have to deal with negativity every single day, not negativity from the outside, but from within themselves. I think it is easy to think that I am the only one that has to deal with being negative about myself, how I look isn't the best way, or that I am not good enough, smart enough and the list goes on. These athletes have to train their brains and then they have to realize that negativity is normal, but has to be dealt with otherwise it will mess them up, it will cause them to fail.

If athletes have realized just what negativity does to them, do you think it does the same thing to us? I believe it does, if we constantly feed the monster of doubt, then we are not growing, we are not saying the key scripture Matthew 19:26 "Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."" If I am focusing on the things that I may do wrong, instead of focusing on God, then I will do those things wrong. I need to be willing to say in and of myself I can't, but with God all things are possible.

When I focus on all the negativity, I will not grow in God, I will stay in the same place. God made me, He designed me, He wants me to trust in Him and see that He chose me to walk the road I am on and to trust in Him. Yes, I will struggle, but that doesn't mean that I throw in the towel and focus on all the negativity. I believe Satan wants us to see all the negative things in our lives, because he knows the power of negativity, he knows how it will destroy us from the inside out. Yes although negativity is normal, we do not have to feed the beast, we have to ask God to help us to starve the beast, stop feeding into the negative self talk. Stop saying I am not good enough, or that I am not handsome enough, or smart enough, quick enough and say God I need Your help, I want to be who you call me to be, I can't do it, but You can. Help me to stop feeding the negative voices that say I am not worth it, that I can't do it and start believing in Your word.

It is time that we start trusting God, He made us, He hand picked us, He designed us, He wants to change us. Isn't it time that we stop feeding the beast that comes to rob, steal and destroy and start trusting God, that He has a plan and a purpose for our lives.

This song is on my heart this morning:

Blessed Assurance

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine;
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.

Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest;
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.
