Psalm 23
A psalm of David.

"1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever."

When the hard times come and I am feeling overwhelmed and can't press onward and upward, I remember this Psalm. The Lord is my (Geoff's) Shepard. It is easy to allow my circumstances to define how I feel or what I may be thinking. When I read this Psalm it reminds me that even though I go through hard things that He is right with me, that He would not allow me to go through it alone and even though hard. I have a tendency to allow the fear to control my actions, but God calls us to rise above it and allow Him to lead the way. He calls me to surrender what I am afraid of to Him. This is just an area He continues to teach me, to work on me and to show me the way. I share it with you, because I don't know if this is just something I go through, but if not, maybe it will encourage you too.

What is your heart singing?

This morning as I got up and ready for work I had a song I kept singing, I didn't know what it was, but it is wonderful to wake up with a song. As I continue to have that song on my lips and playing through my mind, it is wonderful just to take each moment as they come, thank God for the life you have. God has given us this day, He has laid out before us a new day to walk and it is easy to get lost in all that is going on, but harder to praise God despite what is happening. It talks about praising God in all things, not just what is easy, but even what comes harder. Joy is found in our Father in Heaven and in that Joy we will find the hope of what God has for us.

Today and every day don't forget the reason that we are here, the reason that we live and the reason we breath. God has given us this day and what you have lost you will find in Him. What you seek, seek ye first His Kingdom and you will find what you are looking for. Don't let the things around you steal your joy, for Jesus is always with you, He is in you and He is the reason that we are here today. Don't give up, for He will never give up on you. His love surpasses any human love. I read a thing that said that God loves us in a moment to what a human can in a lifetime. He loves you right where you are and He loves me.

God is the Great I Am

As I woke, I heard the song playing in my head. I continue to be touched by what God has done and is doing. I am reminded that God is the Great I am, when you start feeling overwhelmed or even joyless, remember in our lives He is the only reason we can find joy, as He breaks down walls, we are more and more vulnerable and it may be scary,  but God knows just what He is doing and why. We must find our trust in Him, we must allow Him to continue to do the work on us, He is the Potter and I am the clay, mold me and make me the man in which you Lord want me to be.
