Epedemic

We hear the word "Epidemic" and we are struck by the fear of how can we avoid catching what ever it is spreading through our nation. We immediately think of precautions, prevention and we do what it takes to avoid it, because we want to stay healthy. We rush out to our doctors, to the stores, we avoid areas where the outbreaks are happening, we wash our hands, we do everything and then even more on top of it. We want to avoid being sick of any kind, because who wants to be sick?

Joshua 1:7-8 "“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful."

In our Christian walk today, one of the epidemic is Complacency, we have a name for it, we have the tools to avoid it, but it is easy to look to our right and left and compare what we are doing with what others are doing instead of seeking God. It is God's command that we keep the book of Laws always on our lips, meditate on it day and night, so that we may do what is written in it. How often does the Good book sit on our shelf, on our night table untouched for days. We have the apps on our phones, but do we open it? Do we search out the truth through God's word or do we just think about it? In
2 Timothy 3:16-17 it says "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." In the Bible there is truth around every corner and when you don't have the answer to something, have you opened the Bible to see what God has to say? When you are struggling in marriage, in relationships, do you open the Bible to see the truth that is written for you? I have heard people say that, well that isn't in the Bible, but when you spend time reading God's words, He will give you more words than you realize, He will give you the answer, but you have to be willing to do, for it to happen.

Complacency is this idea that it will just happen and I have to do nothing to get it. It is a danger that we are becoming more and more like that. When we are not willing to invest our time into something, how much is that something worth to us? Have you ever looked at marriages?

Today remember one of the many scriptures in the Bible from 1 Chronicles 28:20 "Be strong and of good courage, and do it; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD God—my God—will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD. " God is doing a work in your life, He has not forgotten you, He is with you and will finish the work He has started, it may not be in our timing, but His timing is perfect, wait on Him.

Have a blessed day!!
