Seeing life even in the hard times

I have written about seeing the positive even when the negative/bad things happens. People ask me well have you put it into practice and I say yes and then they say well if something bad happens to you, wont you get mad at it.

Wednesday, I was heading to work. I was about 10 minutes from my house when I caught a glimpse of a big deer coming onto the road on the left hand side of me. At that point there was nothing I could do. I slammed on my brakes and between the screaching of the tires and the thump as the deer ran into me, I am not sure if I even saw much of it happen. But the deer ran into the side of my car.

As my car skidded to a stop, I saw that a truck had stopped on the other side of the road. I made a U turn and went back to the truck. He got out of his vehicle and asked me if I was alright and then informed me on what to do exactly about calling 911 and just gave me the run down just as if he was sent to that spot for me. I have hit deer and animals before, but this time as I turned around I was calm, my heart was not racing and I felt that this had happened for a reason and everything would be alright. It was amazing to see this man willing to help me when I could have freaked out, but I was at peace.

I called 911 and reported the hit and waited for a State Trooper to come and write up an accident report and as I sat there I realized that it was a miracle that nothing else happened. I look at my small car and see that if I had been a second earlier or even later, I could have hit the deer with the front of my car and that would have been much worse. It was amazing to see that the only damage was to the door, my window did not break and it is driveable.

We can see the bad things that happen to us and curse the day, or we can see that yes bad things will happen, but it is in how we handle it that sets us apart from others. Life isn't going to be all great times, but what it is going to be about is how we handle the hard times even when it means cost.

The bottom line is EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON
