Psalm 118:24 "This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." He has given us a new day to walk with Him. He continues to show us area's in our lives that we need to allow Him to work. I am reminded of a saying, what bothers us in someone else, is probably because it is something that God wants to work on in us. When God knocks on the door of our hearts are we listening to Him or are we saying, no I am to busy, or I will listen in 30 minutes and when we are ready to hear Him, what do we hear? Is it time to think about not in our time, but in His.
We continue to be reminded of areas to which He wants to bring us wholeness, but in our fears of wanting to keep from being hurt we are quick to avoid the healing that He has for us. I see that in me so much, it is easy to react when spoken to harshly, or when given attitude, but God calls us to listen, to hear and then to respond out of love, not hate, not anger, but love.
In my own life, if my son jumps on me or gives me attitude I want to give it right back, because that isn't right, how dare he disrespect me. I have to wonder what does that teach him about me. Then I am reminded of one of my life verses Matthew 7:12 "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you," I must respond in a way that I want done unto me, I must love how I want me to be loved, I must continue walk in truth, because that is what I want done to me. It doesn't mean that it will always make sense, but what it does mean is that people will wonder why the change in our behavior. If all we get is attitude, what attitude are we portraying? God calls us to reflect Him, are we doing that or are we reflecting the very thing we are expecting to get from the other. To allow God means to allow our perspective to be changed if we are only focusing on the negative, allow Him to change it to show us the beauty and the gift He has for us today.
Do you have area's in your life you react? I know I do, but God is faithful to continue to remind us that He loves us so much, that He has given us grace to walk a new day. His grace is sufficient for me, guess what if it is sufficient for me, it is sufficient for you.
Have a wonderful Monday and rest and know that God is in control. The more we surrender, the more we allow Him to do the impossible things in our lives. One last thing, I have noticed that I have a have an attitude of I can do it all by myself and I don't want to, but it hangs over me. By admitting my faults I allow God to work in me. I don't want to do it alone anymore. Everything is much better when shared, even the things I don't know, because then I can grow in my lack of knowledge.
