Leaning on the Everlasting Arms

Thoughts for today. It is easy to try and do it all myself, my way, my thoughts, my plans, but the truth is that we can't do it on our own, our ways will fall apart. The arm of flesh will fail, but when we lean on the everlasting arms of God, He has promised to walk with us, to carry us through. He is teaching us each and every day what love is and how to love, He is teaching us how to live, how to walk, how to trust, but we have to be willing to learn, willing to change for change to happen.

Change starts with a choice, Lord I want to change, I am willing to change, please help me to change. You would think that is enough, but it isn't because God will bring things in that He wants to make changes in us and it is our choices that we can either allow Him to teach us, or we close the door. Isn't it time that we allow Him to continue the good work in our lives that He has started? It isn't easy, but nothing worth doing is easy. To climb the biggest mountains takes work, but the view from the top is worth the climb. Yes there will be pitfalls and valleys, but do you want to stay stagnate or do you want to grow and learn? Isn't it time to lean on God? Isn't it time to allow God to continue the work He has started in you?

It is a personal walk with Jesus Christ, He is our savior and Lord, He has gone before us and He is with us, why don't we allow Him to continue to shape us, to polish us and to allow us to grow in Him. Not my will, but your will be done Lord.

Leaning on the Everlasting Arms

What a fellowship, what a joy divine,
leaning on the everlasting arms;
what a blessedness, what a peace is mine,
leaning on the everlasting arms.
(Refrain:)

Leaning, leaning,
safe and secure from all alarms;
leaning, leaning,
leaning on the everlasting arms.

O how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way,
leaning on the everlasting arms;
O how bright the path grows from day to day,
leaning on the everlasting arms.
(Refrain)

What have I to dread, what have I to fear,
leaning on the everlasting arms?
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near,
leaning on the everlasting arms.(Refrain)

What have I to dread, what have I to fear, leaning on the everlasting arms; I have blessed peace with my Lord so near, leaning on the everlasting arms.
Elisha Hoffman

It is not my will, but Lord it is your will. It is not my way, but your way Lord. It is not my timing, but your timing Lord. It has to be God changing you, not someone else. Pray that God will change you and then your willingness to allow Him to make you and shape you. He is the potter we are the clay. He is the only one to make you who you need to be, not your wife, not your husband, it is God. He will show you area's that need change, be willing to except it and don't give up, for yes it is an uphill climb, but He is worth it and He is making you into something new. I go through this change daily and daily I am reminded of changes He wants to make. He shows me things in which I need to change. His will not mine, His changes not mine. His leading not mine.
