Holding On

I as a human want to hold onto the human way of doing things. I want to do it my way, I want to think how I have learned to think, but what I am finding out is that life is not about how we have been taught to do things, through the news, through people around us, through it all. When I watch TV the world reacts to situations by holding onto them, by reacting or even in church about praying for the answer to the prayer to be the answer that we want. When an unanswered prayer is not answered the way we want it to be, we think that it was unanswered, but have you ever thought that maybe God has other plans for us? Have you ever taken into consideration that maybe, just maybe that the answer is not what you wanted, but the will of the Father to do something greater in us and through us.

When an issue arises in my life, I was quick to hold onto the problem, I would think about it, think of all the what if's, the maybe's and all the negative, but in the Bible it talks about throwing all our cares on Him, for He careth for me, for you. Not just some of them, but All of them and when we throw a ball do we hold onto the ball after releasing it? No, if we did the ball would not go to far, just the same holds true with throwing are cares on Him, it is about releasing them, it is about giving them up to the God in Heaven, it is about turning them over to the one that made us.

Just the same hold true with praying, make all your requests known, we request something, but then we must say Father Your will be done, it isn't about what I want, but about you Father, it is about what You want. By turning it over to Him, we are releasing it, we are not holding onto it anymore and each time that thought, that doubt comes in, we must release it, because they will come back, they will continue to pester you, the worry and fears can pull you down, but when you release them it isn't just a one time thing, you have to do it over and over again. Maybe it is just me that has to, but God has given us the ability to give Him control, but it isn't just a one time deal, it is moment by moment and when the human nature rise up in you, you must give it back to God. This a moment by moment choice and it is up to you to do it, no one else can, but God says anything is possible for those that love Him.

I have heard it said it is to hard, it takes to much effort to do this, but guess what God has given us a spirit of Peace and a sound mind, He does not give us the spirit of fear. He has gone before you today and He has provided a way, but you must walk in His way and not your own. Isn't it time to allow God and stop trying to do it yourself. When you turn it over to Him, release it, stop holding on. Allow God and you will be amazed what will happen. It is not Geoff's way, but God's way.

Have a good day and know that God has gone before you, He has made away for you to walk in. Allow God and you will be amazed, try and do it your own way and you will become overwhelmed, tired and frustrated, with God He will guide you through it all.
