Praying Scriptures

I am back to this again, because I believe God has placed these in the Bible for many reasons. It is written in 2 Timothy 3:16 "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness," and then in Psalm 119:11 "I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you."

When I pray scripture, I am studying it, I am putting what God has written and hiding it in my heart, I am intentionally putting God first in what I do. No longer is it about my words, but about the words that He has placed in the scriptures. Have you ever been for a loss for words when praying, is your prayer life like a laundry list of things? I know mine can be and has been and it is hard to pray intentionally. It says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 "give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." He can't really mean all, can He? What I am suppose to give thanks for the difficult time I am having at work? Giving thanks changes my perspective on what is happening, God gave me this job, He knew what I would be struggling with and He gave it to me any how. There is nothing that He didn't know before, so this is no surprise to Him. I thank Him for my job, for the path He has me on, because He knew I could take this. What it is Monday, I have to thank Him for that too? Yes, because He gave me a knew day to breathe and another day to spread His love. If I am having a difficult time at home, I have to thank Him for that too? It says in ALL circumstances, because it takes the focus off of "I", "ME" and puts it onto God. He knew what we would go through in life, He knew it and still we are here. I need to change my focus onto Him instead of focusing on self, on my issues, on what I want, instead of what I don't want. There is a common statement in all of it and it is "Self".

My prayer:
Lord I come before you on this Thursday, I thank you for today, I thank you for the life you have chosen for me, I thank you for giving me a life to live, I thank you for a job. Lord, I pray that you will "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." (Psalm 51:10), that you will "Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior and my hope is in you all day long." (Psalm 25:4-5) and "Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground." (Psalm 143:10) I thank you for what you are doing in my life and I praise you, "This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice
and be glad in it." (Psalm 118:24).Lord I thank you for your promises and help me to hold onto your word and hide it in my heart so that I may not sin against you. I want to be the man, the husband, the father you call me to be. Help me "Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others." (Philippians 2:3-4). And Help me Lord to "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds" (Hebrews 10:24).
I pray this in your precious and holy name Amen.

I would suggest getting a journal or prayer book to write down your prayers. It does take work, but it gets you into His word and gives you prayer direction. God has called you by name from before the foundations of the earth. There is nothing He did not know and there is nothing that He does not know to come. He is here to Help us Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Today what challenges are you facing. God has written so much in this book, there are new things I discover, don't miss out on the instuctions and direction He has put before you.

Thank you Lord for giving me a chance to write and giving me words to say. Bless whom ever reads this and help them to see Your truths. Amen

Have a blessed day.
