Complete Surrender

I was always under the impression if I just said I surrender that was enough. But then something that I wanted would crop in and I would do all I could to get it. It was when I stepped back to look at the whole picture did my perspective change. It is not just the easy or the hard things to surrender, it has to be all that we surrender. It is not my will, but yours Lord, it is not my way, but yours Lord, it is not my wants, but what you want me to have Lord. If you close a door, it doesn't mean I try and open others, because it is in due time that you will open the door for me. And if the door does not open, I have to trust you even when it is something I desperately want, I have to trust you even when it doesn't make sense, I have to trust you even when I don't want to.

Complete surrender means laying down ones will for the will of the one that created us. It means giving Him everything and stopping trying to force doors open. It is listening to even the hard things that others have said or are saying and acting on them. It is high time that we lay down our wants, desires and replace them with what Jesus wants in our life. It is not my will, but yours.

Our Father, which art in heaven,
Holy be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth,
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,

The power, and the glory,

For ever and ever.

Amen.
