Verb
give way to anxiety or unease; allow one's mind to dwell on difficulty or troubles.noun
Noun
a state of anxiety and uncertainty over actual or potential problems.
It is very easy to become anxious or even worry about things that have not happened. Have you ever noticed how you brain can come up with 10 things to worry about when there isn't really anything that you can do to change the outcome. We can watch the news to find those 10 things to worry about, but should we be worried, should we be anxious about them? I do this with things in my life that well I can't change, or even do anything about. For example my job, I have been working a lot in the past few weeks to try and help this project along. I could worry that well if I don't get it done well, my job is on the line, or I could just work to do my best and if it means my job, then it was time to end this job anyhow.
The bible talks about Worry and doubt, do you know what it says?
Philippians 4:6
New King James Version
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
You may think to yourself well, really just one verse, well I have read other things too. Well it isn't just in one place, here is another place:
Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
Jesus Cares for me? He loves me even where I have been? He loves the man I was and am. He loves you just the same, don't worry for today is a new day and He has given it to you, trust Him and He will see you through.
“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Matthew 6:33-34 ESV
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
More of You less of me. More of You and less of my problems. The more we focus on Him, the less our earthly things matter and the more we can trust in Him. Lay all your cares on Him for He cares for you, yes you.
