Today is a new day, what is in the past is behind us, but what is in the future ahead of us. We don't know what the future holds and our minds play tricks on us with what the past held. What we know for sure is that we have today, today to live, today to breath and today to give thanks to God for giving us a new day.
Today is the day that God has given us, today is all we have. I remember a saying that I would hear growing up, tomorrow never comes, because when it does it is really today. We can put off doing things till tomorrow, but God calls for us to make the best use of the time He has given us, what has He asked for you to do today for Him? Don't put off loving Him with all you are, because in doing so, the love we have for the ones we are with, grows, changes and becomes so strong it will be the tie that binds.
Today don't make it about what you want, make it about what God wants. How is doing life for yourself going? Are you feeling lost without directing? Have you given up hope for something better? Today is the first day of the rest of your life, today make a choice to allow God to lead, to be the captain of your ship and allow Him to be the one that takes the wheel. Isn't it time to try life differently?
Jesus talks about how we are clay pots, if you put a candle in a clay pot and light it, can you see the light? You can only see it a little bit, but once that pot is broken, you can see the light shine stronger. Sometimes it takes allow God to break us, before our light will shine. It isn't easy, but it is so well worth it, because then when He remakes you, He will put holes in all the right places for His light to shine through you.
Jesus has scars to remind us what He went through for us. We have scars to remind us what Jesus did to save us from ourselves. Today is a new day, thank God today that He has given you a new day and a new way to serve Him.
