The Bible

After a conversation I had yesterday about religion, I am reminded that the Bible although an old book is the most important book that we have. God has given us a road map on how to live, how to walk and how to be. It isn't just a book about yesterday, it isn't just about history, it is about how people dealt with God and how we need to allow God to deal with us.

2 Timothy 3:16 "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,"

That means although written by man, it was God inspired.

Revelation 22:19 "And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll."

We can't pick and glean what scriptures best apply to our life choices. It is just like with God, it is all or nothing. It says in Revelation 3:15-17 "15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked."

It is a pretty clear picture of what God expects out of us, it is our choice to either walk it or leave it. It comes down to choices. What is God calling us to? To live a life of absolute obedience to Him, to surrender what we are to Him, to allow Him to work in us and so He can work through us. It can't be just half way, it can't just be on Sunday, it is every day.

What is God calling you to?
