I woke up singing this song this morning and I wanted to share it with you. At the cross of Jesus, we must be willing to surrender it all, when we hold back and carry the burden on our own, we will stumble and fall. Jesus is saying it is time to die to self, so that we can live in Him forever. Dying to self is one of the hardest things to do, but in the death comes freedom. I want to surrender it all at the cross and no longer hold onto the things that have held me back, fear, doubt, worry, etc. I think it is time not just to give my money, or time, but all of me.
Time to walk in freedom from the selfish nature that I have held onto for so long. I post this, not to say I am perfect, but to say I have to be willing to lay it all down and say not my will, but Your will be done. Jesus will provide a way, He has gone before me and He is with me in it all. In Him I can be the man, the husband, father etc. that He calls me to be, without Him, I am just as the world and He says do not love the things of the world, but love Me.
At The Cross, by Chris Tomlin
There's a place where streams of grace flow deep and wide
Where all the love I've ever found
Comes like a flood
Comes flowing down
[Chorus]
At the cross
At the cross
I surrender my life
I'm in awe of You
I'm in awe of You
Where Your love ran red
And my sin washed white
I owe all to You
I owe all to You Jesus
[Verse 2]
There's a place where sin and shame are powerless
Where my heart has peace with God and forgiveness
Where all the love I've ever found
Comes like a flood
Comes flowing down
[Chorus]
[Bridge]
Here my hope is found
Here on holy ground
Here I bow down
Here arms open wide
Here You save my life
Here I bow down
Here I bow down
[Chorus]
